In his book Leadership and the Art of the Struggle, Steven Snyder describes leadership as "a struggle by flawed human beings to make some important human values real and effective in the world as it is." Spending time to know yourself isn't about wallowing in your weakness. Ever leader is flawed in some way, to know yourself is a way of acknowledging and addressing opportunities to grow. When leaders get better, everyone gets better! But this starts with a proven path forward of assessment, awareness, and analysis.
